As always, thanks for the links., Infidel.

The squirrel link was hilarious, as was the one about what should be the official portrait of the shitgibbon.

That picture of Barcelona is a stunner. I saw it from ground level once, but never got that perspective.

Many good clicks as usual: funny sobering, inspirational, weird. Slices of life.

Erdogan is desperately dangerous. I was a tourist in Turkey a few years back and it was civilised, sophisticated and really fun. Then Erdogan who seems to be doing his level best to piss on Ataturk's grave.

Hackwhacker: Thanks! Is Barcelona actually all pink like that?

Nick: Erdoğan is a reminder that even a secular democracy established for several generations is vulnerable to backsliding toward theocracy. The US too has a large mostly-rural heavily-religious sub-population which is angry and frightened about social change and wants to see the clock turned back.

I didn't think Barcelona was that coloration from ground level; the photo really accentuates that and the honeycomb pattern of the blocks that you don't appreciate from the street.
