Link round-up for 12 February 2017

Soon we will see Saturn's rings as they've never been seen before.

"I call my own shots."

Clever dogClever donkeyStupid humans.

What's your job?

LOL!

We cannot know what they are dreaming of.

Just hitch a ride.

Interesting words enrich our discourse.

Fragile art -- poetry on an eggshell.

"Dress like a woman" (found via Hysterical Raisins).

You never know where revolutionaries may be found.

Fundie wingnuts are in a snit about Superbowl commercials.

Sometimes people are better than you expect.

"You are here."

These responses to the Women's Marches are very revealing.  Check out Kevin Swanson too.  Remember, we're all possessed by demons -- especially Lady Gaga (more here).

A normal person reports on an online encounter with a Trumpanzee.

It's a wingnut Valentine's Day card!

Besides being a Green, Jill Stein is an idiot.

Trump has massive support in my home city.

Ken Ham does a really crappy rainbow (found via Republic of Gilead).

I don't think this is only gays.

Before counter-protesting at Planned Parenthood, read this.

Remember, the enemy hates regulations.

Here's another quote from Frederick Douglass, on the Fourth of July (link from Ranch Chimp).

This is what Elizabeth Warren was trying to read out.

See pictures from the Stonewall rally (found via Republic of Gilead).

Ooh, look at the scary hijab.

Republicans protect us from voter fraud, but how would deporting this person protect us against Islamic extremism?  Then there's this.

Joanne Dixon looks at American cruelty.

I've been here.

The British prepare to welcome Trump.

It's a hot summer.  And facts are facts.

Now that the idiots are in charge in the US, our scientists may soon have a place to goSee the message here.

God is with us.

I think many countries share some of Sweden's concerns about Trump.

The model for the Statue of Liberty was an Egyptian (found via Earth-Bound Misfit).

Fair and Unbalanced looks at the bungled Yemen raid. I repeat, the idiots are in charge.

Traditional cultures in Kenya are taking steps against the horror of female genital mutilation.

Dumbass Trump (found via Fair and Unbalanced) seems to generate a miasma of illiteracy (found via Green Eagle).  Maybe if he trashes our schools badly enough, no one will be left smart enough to notice.  Progressive Eruptions has commentaries on his authoritarian madness.  Maybe this explains some of it.

Resistance is working, bigly -- even when it seems to fail (found via Republic of Gilead).  Congressional Republicans are running scared.

Trump brings peace.

Don't believe everything you read.

More Trump voters start wising upThese people may take longer to realize they were conned.  But to some, Trump is a liberator.  Others want more.  Animal abusers get a win.

On ACA repeal, Republicans are floundering and getting rattled -- because it's a delusion.

Here's a show of support for Trump in his home city.  Let's see how these events turn out.

Don't forget the soon-to-be-President's record.  Nonnie9999 gets an early start on official portraits.

[23 days down, 1,438 days to go until the inauguration of a real President!]

Regarding Trump, sadly I have yet to see one of my Trumpanzee high school friends on Facebook display any concern or regrets. They remain convinced that he is going to somehow make America "great again." Some I suspect are unreachable. For the ones who might be, I honestly wonder what it will take for them to realize they were mistaken.

Re: Saturn. Very exciting news. I was amazed when I was able to see Saturn's rings in my telescope.

Tommykey -- Some ignorance is invincible. Even when confronted with overwhelming evidence, some people cling to illusions that bring them emotional comfort.

"This is MILF Commander Jafaar! We've breached the Shredded Cheese Authority headquarters and have launched a ground assault against the cheddar supplies!"

As a lover of metal, I can confirm that metalheads are mostly decent folks.

Truth be told, I'd rather watch Lady Gaga's halftime performance than watch a bunch of oversized men in helmets run into each other repeatedly.

Patton Oswalt's Facebook post was enlightening. The world of empathy and genuine respect is alien to them, and people like that frequently become angry at things they don't understand. I do hope they discover that their juvenile actions have consequences.

Douglas' quote still resonates with truth today. America's original independence was only for white, free, land-owning men. Everyone else has had to struggle long and hard for the same freedom (to this day).

Another pageant of interesting links (and thanks again) -- and I haven't even finished going through them yet!

I was following last week how Senator Warren was told to sit down and shut up basically (that's really what happened basically, f**k the rule or whatever), that is truly undemocratic, and very unAmerican. That is what we have become in America and Washington ... and with this crew in charge there now, I expect it to get worse ... I'll leave it at that. I know if I was in Senator Warren's position, and that happened to me, I would no longer have a job unfortunately ... I admire how she handled it though, that's difficult.

The voter fraud deal has been all over MSM when I turn on the tele to watch the news ... another distraction and gimmick to suppress the voice of the people even more ... there is a Hell of alot more that could be questioned about the voting set- up and elections in this country than several dozen folks trying to vote twice or whatever.

I havent looked into it yet (or know if I will right away), but I was in Mesquite the other day, and this woman who was talking to us, started complaining about shutting down Ivanka's (?) products or something ... obviously a Trump supporter,(there was a bunch of folks there) ... well, as she's runnin her mouth, I budded in and simply said "I dont care who said what ... the bottom line is ... selling your products, and the Capitol is not a damn department store or flea market ... besides, a shitload of her products will sell as it is, just because she's a first daughter, no promoting necessary" (similar wording) ... the lady actually wanted to debate me ... I told her "I havent read up on it yet ... and dont have time, discussion ended".

You know guy ... I actually remember NYC when the smog from cars was like that, it was really heavy back in the late 1960's and early 70's ... and those who think that smog in LA is thick today ... you should have seen it back in the 70's! Dallas has been getting quite a bit on non breezy dayz in recent years ... here is because of the cars and the cement factories, Houston has some serious issues too, plus you have all the refineries there.

Mass amounts of Trump supporters in PDX? ... Hell, they probably got bussed in from via Uber van from nearby Boise (ID), heh, heh, heh, heh, heh {:-)

Clever dog and donkey, stupid human ... a good laugh!

As far as heat and record temperatures, I look for the trend to continue, and for regular scientific data to get replaced in Washington, by rent- a- scientist and data ... the big money for one, dont give a damn about global warming ... but with reason to, considering their plans ... too lengthy to get into here.

I was viewing shots of Saturn's rings elsewhere awhile back ... really some kick ass photos too ... it almost looked like an animation ... just awesome!

Later Infidel ....

Tommykey: Some are learning, some never will. We don't need all of them, just enough to win elections.

Ahab: That "MILF" is an Islamist militia, unfortunately. I do wonder how some of the others found those niches.

Trumpanzees follow Trump's example, relating to the world largely through temper tantrums.

Hackwhacker: Thanks! remember, this is a good chunk of own internet rambling for a whole week.

Ranch: McConnell and his ilk are incredibly tone-deaf. They don't seem to grasp the symbolism of shutting Warren down while she was reading Coretta Scott King's words. "Nevertheless, she persisted" is already becoming a battle cry.

Trump supporters in PDX? ... Hell, they probably got bussed in

They wouldn't have needed much of a bus.

The detail in some of the modern photos of Saturn's rings is amazing, and we'll soon have even better views. If only Galileo could have seen this day!

Notice I said Uber "van" (12- 15 passenger tops) ...heh, heh, heh, heh, heh {:-)

I worded my comment about the Ivanka products not too clearly above ... the lady in Mesquite that was obviously a Trump gal, was bitching up a storm with folks over how this Kellyanne (spelling?) right hand lady of Trump was treated. I jumped into the conversation, as she was complaining to about 5- 6 people ... because, she acted as if this Kelly gal was a victim of sort ... which I pointed out to her, that our Capitol shouldnt be promoting sales of products, etc ... someone had to say something, and folks were just too polite to her.
