A Muslim child's fear of Donald Trump evokes an interesting internet response from members of the military.

Can a whole country run on green energy?  Costa Rica already does.

A huge cult of hateful and insane people exists in our midst (found via Republic of Gilead).  For some, even the Republicans aren't evil enough.

thank you for the link to the Honest Bumper Stickers post.

I saw also you have an article up about how the Republicans might think Third Party run if Trump wins. I've thought about that already, months ago... and realized that won't work because 1) there are no other Republicans popular enough to steal thunder from Trump in the first place (! I mean, c'mon, that's WHY THEY'RE IN THIS MESS), and 2) it may sow destruction on their down-ticket campaigns especially for the Senate seats. Hell, I wrote this back in August... http://noticeatrend.blogspot.com/2015/08/what-if-trump-wins-nomination-but.html

Loved the colorful cake that isn't a lie. And the report from Ed Brayton. The Victorian Christmas Cards were both hilarious and frightening, just like The Trumper. But even more frightening is the guy who's catching up with Trump and could, some pundits say, get the nomination:

Injured frogs, chicken people, and dead birds? Victorian cards were weird, for sure.

The card with Krampus and the two little girls was funny. The girl with the blue ribbon in her hair seems to be saying, "Are you SURE you know how to drive this thing? I think you need to sober up, Krampus."

The Lello Bookstore was breathtaking!

If Abraham pulled those stunts in 2015, he'd be investigated by child protective services and/or arrested. I've never understood people of faith who see Abraham -- a man who nearly murdered his son, pimped his wife, owned slaves, sexually abused one of his slaves, and drove the aforementioned slave and her little boy out into the desert to die -- as a righteous man.

The #iwillprotectyou hashtag was touching. It's comforting to know that plenty of Americans haven't bought into Trump's hatred.

P.M. Carpenter hit the nail on the head. As I watched news coverage of the BLM protests at Mall of America and Chicago's largest shopping district, I failed to grasp how these tactics would help their cause. Thwarting Christmas shoppers will only alienate people from their cause.

I thought the fake $100 bill for Christian proselytization, but it turns out it was part of something more sinister. Here's an article on fake bills used for evangelizing: http://jobs.aol.com/articles/2011/11/22/waiter-gets-a-fake-tip-and-religious-lesson/

Paul: I agree the Republicans are basically screwed no matter what they do at this point. I'm hoping they'll realize that, if they're doomed to lose the election and split their party, they're better off doing so without the additional stain of having nominated a fascist for the Presidency than with it.

Shaw: Cruz is basically this cycle's Huckabee or Santorum. If Trump would be an American Mussolini, Cruz would be an American Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Like Trump, though, if he got nominated he'd lose the general election in a landslide. But supporting a ban on birth control (or certain forms of it) shows how unhinged these people are getting.

It's rather funny, given that that article was written in August, to see lines like "When the Trump bubble finally pops" and "once the Trump campaign eventually fizzles out". A lot of people back then were so sure that would happen. They certainly have egg on their faces now.

The Victorians must have been strange people (well, we knew that).

Ahab: It might be amusing to do a whole series on major Biblical figures and what would happen to them if they engaged in the same antics in modern society. People like Abraham were probably suffering from borderline brain damage due to malnutrition, given the times they lived in.

It's bizarre that some "protesters" practically make a virtue out of using tactics calculated to turn people against them. Successful movements didn't win their success that way.

And giving fake tips is another example of the same thing. If waitresses tend to dislike serving Christians, one can't be surprised.

That is one beautiful and outstanding selection of Victorian Xmas cards, I have never seen none like that ... wow! ... what makes it also extra beautiful is the detail in the art ... all this garbage today is so generic. I would have loved to have some of those to send out to familia and friends. I think also in todayz politically correct crapmanshit (opposite of good craftsmanship) mass produced society ... some of these would be criticized.

Ranch: You won't see anything like them in most stores these days, that's for sure.

Blurber: Houdini was the James Randi of his time. People need to know more about him.

Shaw: Thanks!
