I hate this man

The man pictured above is Rick Wiles, an American Christian radio preacher who has recently been in the news for declaring that "Ebola could solve America's problems with atheism, homosexuality, sexual promiscuity, pornography, and abortion."  He hopes that this ghastly disease will become widespread in the advanced world and condemn all those who do not submit to his religion's primitive taboos to a hideous death.  Squatlo Rant blog reported it and Right Wing Watch confirms it.

I've tried to embrace free speech impartially, I really have.  I've tried so hard to be tolerant of religious hate and religious bigotry, treating it as just another opinion which is as legitimate, under the auspices of free expression, as my own.

But I just can't do it any more.  I hate Rick Wiles.  I hate his guts.

And why shouldn't I?  He hates me.  He has bluntly said that he wishes a hideous death upon me if I don't get an "attitude adjustment", and he clearly doesn't feel an atom of guilt or self-doubt about doing so.

And I don't just hate Rick Wiles.  He's just the latest example of the type.  I hate all those who are like him and who equally casually and confidently hate me and people like me.  They are my enemies, they have chosen to be so.  Bryan Fischer.  Ayatollah Khamenei.  Pope Francis.  The men of ISIS/Islamic State.  The American fundamentalist movement.  The men of Hamas.  The Catholic Church hierarchy.  They are not human to me, they are monsters.  They are all mortal enemies of me and people like me, and I hate them all.

I'm done with tolerance and any pretense of mutual respect.  This is an all-out war, and we are winning, and we must smash them, and settle for nothing less than unconditional surrender and total victory.

whoa...forget the hate stuff. Seriously. It is energy draining....hang in there for sharp disgust, loathing, dislike,disdain....but a dude like you needs all the energy possible and hate is just energy draining. Republicans hate, teabaggers hate,tele-fucking-evanjellycals hate.... that is why they accomplish nothing.

You....? you gotz stuff to do, roads to build, minds to change, hearts to meld.

just saying.
peace and stuff

"I'm done with tolerance and any pretense of mutual respect."

Okjimm: The "turn the other cheek" delusion is just more Christian thinking. If someone hates me and wants me dead, no one has any right to tell me I shouldn't feel the same way about that person. I'm sick of feeling targeted. "Bash back".

Anon: I'm willing to be tolerant of religions that mind their own business. Once they start trying to ban things and attacking people's rights, my tolerance ends.

Welcome to the real world.

It is a sad lesson for all of us to learn that the liberal tolerance that we cherish so much simply will not do with a certain segment of subhumans, most of which throughout history have justified their barbarism by claiming a direct link with God.

I try not to be delusional....course, with enough of the right stuff, it can be fun.

all I was saying is, hate is a very big roadblock to progress.

I do not turn the other cheek...both have enough scars; don't need more.

A guy like Rick Wiles can be brought down without hate.

a guy once wanted to get into it with me, and when I declined he asked what I was afraid of. I told him "it's like dogshit. I don't have to be afraid of dogshit to avoid stepping in it"

I don't have to hate dogshit, I can step around it....but...I can also caution others about dogshit in the walkway. that's aall

Green: I tried, I really did. But people who endlessly try to force their own taboo system on the whole country and wish death on anyone who doesn't conform, can't expect their targets to like them.

Okjimm: Maybe you don't feel constantly targeted by these crazies the way I do. Please respect my right to my authentic feelings in response to that.

To the person who e-mailed: No, I do not believe that this post could be interpreted as threatening, but for the record, I emphatically do not have any intention of taking any action to harm Wiles or anyone else. I am merely pointing out how loathsone his words and attitudes are. The Dominionists and suchlike who declare their desire to impose Biblical punishments like stoning to death for those who violate their taboos are the ones making threats against other people -- not I.

Heh, I know how you feel. I remember once following this blogger called The Social Pathologist, who used to give every impression of being quite a reasonable conservative. Then I came upon a rant of his lamenting the passing of the "good old days", when any man who ventured out of his house dressed in any way "effeminately" (as I suppose I often would be by his standards) could expect to be beaten up by other men. Having had more than a few unpleasant run-ins myself with knuckle-draggers who expressed a desire to inflict violence on me because of my attire (though in each case their threats thankfully proved to be nothing more than bluster), my immediate reaction to what this tool had written was "Fuck you mate!" and my opinion of him has only gone down since (it certainly hasn't helped that he's since revealed himself to be a big fan of the so-called Dark Enlightenment, and an all-round crank in general. So much for my initial impressions of him being reasonable!). I have similarly hostile feelings towards this tosser called "Proph" (who seems to move in the same Internet circles as the so-called Social Pathologist), who once wrote a disturbing defence of bullying, which he claimed was useful for "enforcing social norms". He was particularly in favour of LGBT folk being subjected to it, adding that violence against such individuals was more than justified. Of course, he then showed what an utter coward and hypocrite he was by whining how much he was being persecuted (ie bullied) as a conservative Christian, claiming that the sort of "bullying" he and like-minded folk were being subjected to was so much worse than "the routine beating up fags stuff" (his words). So, yeah, I've no time or tolerance for people like that. Fuck them all.
