Koran cook-out canceled.....

.....according to this. Though I don't believe for a moment that Abdul-Rauf made a deal with this guy.

Update (6:55 PM Pacific time): Cancellation canceled?

Update 2 (6:13 AM, 10 Sept.): Should've known these guys would want to get in on it.....

what I'm hearing this pastor is lying his butt off just to cover his butt for cancelling the cook-out. I guess he doesn't want to look like he wimped out? Imam Rauf says no deal was made, I believe him over wacko Jones.

Dang, could've been a theme-of-the-day -- hot dogs cooked to perfection over a nice roaring bonfire of sacred texts.....:-)

It's all insane, we need to put a straight jacket on the creep. Maybe some duct tape over his mouth too...

I'm sorry but the cancellation of the cancellation has been postponed due to an earlier cancellation. That is until his meeting in New York. Unless that's canceled.

I just shake my head, my liberal friends.

People like this guy and Fred Phelps provide ammo to atheists.

You all would probably agree with almost all of my Friday blog post.

I end it by saying I understand atheist a little better now, and I mean it (I am a Hitchens and Condell fan after all...)

No all shit aside Infidel ... this has gotten insane ... I cant even turn to one media that is not saturated with this religious nonsense, it is all over everything, I sware, I havent seen this much shit on one subject since the death of Michael Jackson, and that got just as nauseating. Now let me get this straight guy, okay? We have masses in conflict over a bloody book being burned, and over a bloody space being used for a bloody church? I mean ... I thought it was all settled a couple week's ago(?)... now the majority of the world masses, Pentagon, White House, World gvmnt's, FBI, etc, etc, is in an uproar over this still? Over a f'n hillbilly and a f'n raghead? Geeezzz ... No wonder God abandoned these MF's. :)

Sue: If the jacket were actually straight, it probably wouldn't fit him.

Tim: I think the guy hardly even knows what he's going to do any more. But after all this fuss, you know somebody's going to burn something.

RC: You bring the condiments, I'll bring the Korans. Fred Phelps's fans will be supplying the buns.

SF: Hey, come to the dark side:-) -- there are conservative atheists, though admittedly not many.

RC: Well, if I ever decide I want everybody from Obama to Petraeus to Palin to the Taliban to talk about me in public, I'll know exactly how to do it!

I ended up with an Art Robinson tee shirt. I think I'll burn that.

There is a conservative site, The Unreligious Right, I visit to read what they're saying. Here's one of their latest posts:

"HOT5 Daily 9/10/2010

1. "Inside America's Mosques" Interesting reading.

Representative Sample: I, along with a team of young American researchers, traveled throughout the country studying U.S. mosques for the book Journey into America: The Challenge of Islam. From fall 2008 until fall 2009 we visited over 75 cities and over 100 of the estimated 1,200 mosques in the United States, some of which are little more than a room or two. And we were reminded that Muslims in America are as diverse as Americans overall. There is no one pattern that can describe them all, and any generalities fail to cover the whole picture."

The problem with ignorant Americans is that they believe all Muslims are as violent as the ones in the Middle East. They're not.

My friends who are also Muslims have fully embraced American culture. One of them, a married woman, drinks, smokes and eats ham, and is still religious--she's Iranian--no hajib for her.

Plus I've learned to cook some delicious Persian recipes, ghormeh sabzi, for example, thanks to her.

Months ago the Republicans at Fred Phelps' Westboro Baptist went to DC to burn a Koran. Nobody noticed. In the meantime, Republicans have been carefully nurturing hatred for political advantage.

Sue, Ranch Chimp

These creeps don't disappear.

Since his first appearance with his book burning campaign, I couldn't help noticing a lot of similarities between him and Jim Jones. The Guyana nutbag was an utter failure in his first few gigs as an evangelist too, with around 30 members at each of his attempts.

Terry Jones, since he was ousted from his church in Germany has been small-time too.

Yep! Jed Clampett will be back, I'd be willing to lay money on it.

Boomer Bob: ... Yeah Bob ... I recall Jim Jones well ... he had a lil shabby community place I believe up in Indianapolis ... later relocated to the Bay Area (SF/ O-Town) ... he had taken in alot of folk's who were getting gvmnt assistance check's like SSI, and took them off of course to Guyana, where they had the "Peoples Temple" (a group I studied in past)to so call evade gvmnt capitalist oppression, etc. Then this guy having his own medic's on staff .. starting hitting the meth/speed like really heavy (Hitler also was a heavy speed freak in his latter year's) had some really heavy sex appetite too, that was into banging gal's and their hubbies both. The speed of course bring's on heavy paranoia, as with did Hitler as well ... that is where the mass suicide and killing politician's/ visitor's came in. Been awhile Guy, thanx for the mention and reminder!

Yes ... the last name of Jed was "Clampett" ... Geeez I dread remembering that. I mean in grade school (like 8th grade) I remember chix would go up to guy's in the hall between classes and ask the guy ... "What is Jed's last name" when you say "Clampett", they would clamp/ grab your groin/ ball's hard, giggle and run, damn did that hurt too! Geeeezzz!
