The Taitz smackdown

US District Judge Clay D. Land's ruling throwing out Orly Taitz's latest "birther" lawsuit is quite entertaining, especially some of the footnotes. This is what happens when an ideological delusion runs headlong into unyielding reality.

Where there is smoke....you know the drill. However, I believe this: One day this issue will be brought into the light of day for all folks and exposed for what it is; either the truth or a smear, depending on your point of view. What got my attention more then anything else is contained in the following video. For Benjamin Netanyahu to take a stand on the issue is to notch it up a level or two. Orly Taitz can be made fun of and dismissed. I'm not so sure about the Israeli Prime Minister and the best Intelligence agency in the world.

Check this out and ponder:

She alleges no factual basis for her
“hunch” or “feeling” or subjective belief that the President was not
born in the United States.

I'll be darned... LOL!

Lonni -- The "issue" of Obama's birthplace already has been settled for anyone whose mind isn't completely closed to the evidence. I'm not in a place where I can watch videos right at the moment, but even if Netanyahu said something implying he thought the birthers might have a case, it's not terribly surprising that someone from a foreign country might be less than familiar with all the facts.

Elizabeth -- Considering that the judge's basic point was "This person is an idiot and is wasting everyone's time," I thought his language was pretty restrained.

Infidel, I agree that the issue of the actual birth certificate is a quagmire. Persoanlly, I don't care where he was born as he admitted himself that he was a British citizen at birth and that gets into all the dual-citizenship question.

However, what Netanyahu thinks of the situation is relevant in that it will carry weight in the exchange of foreign policy between our two nations. Netanyahu has not cowed down to Obama in refusing to expand housing in disputed areas. Surely, he must feel secure in doing that for some reason. I am hoping that he is doing it for sovereignty reasons but one never knows. The point still remains that if leaders of foreign countries suspect that Obama is not a valid President of the United States it will affect us all in the long run.

Just the opposite. There's no ambiguity about the situation. He was born in Hawaii.

he admitted himself that he was a British citizen at birth

Prove that he said this.

The birthers, the tea baggers, the screamers, and the deathers continued extreme minority presence will become tiresome to mainstream America, if it has not already done so. To all the birthers in La, La Land, it is on you to prove to all of us that your assertion is true, if there are people who were there and support your position then show us the video (everyone has a price), either put up or frankly shut-up. I heard Orly Taitz, is selling a tape (I think it’s called “Money, Lies and Video tape”). She is from Orange County, CA, now I know what the mean when they say “behind the Orange Curtain”, when they talk about Orange County, the captial of Conspiracy Theories. You know Obama has a passport, he travel abroad before he was a Senator, but I guess they were in on it. In my opinion the Republican Party has been taken over the most extreme religious right (people who love to push their beliefs on others while trying to take away the rights of those they just hate) and that’s who they need to extract from their party if they real want to win. Good Luck, because as they said in WACO, “We Ain’t Coming Out”. I heard that she now wants to investigate the “Republican 2009 Summer of Love” list: Assemblyman, Michael D. Duvall (CA), Senator John Ensign (NV), Senator Paul Stanley (TN), Governor Mark Stanford (SC), Board of Ed Chair, and Kristin Maguire AKA Bridget Keeney (SC).

a British citizen at birth???

It's a sub-sect of birtherism. Kenya was still part of the British Empire at the time, so if Obama had been born in Kenya or inherited citizenship from his father, it would actually have been British citizenship. I recall seeing one hysterical rant a few months ago depicting Obama as a sort of new George III and his election as the undoing of the War of Independence, handing the country back to "the British". Needless to say, I don't believe that Obama ever "admitted himself that he was a British citizen at birth", nor, frankly, would I put much brainpower into "pondering" this stuff.....:-)
